
Liu Hongling, a soprano singer of the Central Opera House, graduated from the Department of Vocal Music of the Central Conservatory of Music in 1998 and has successively been taught by Professor Zhou Meiyu and Li Xinchang. In 1998, she won a special prize in the Shanghai competition area of the 4th Budapest International Vocal Music Competition. In August of the same year, she won the third prize in the "Harbin Summer" National New Artist Competition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. In September 2000, she won the second place in the 43rd International Vocal Competition in Turuz, France; in 2001, she won a personal gold medal in Pyongyang International Art Festival, Korea.
